2006 Interstate Enclosed Trailer – Exterior Refresh & Restoration This 2006 Interstate enclosed trailer arrived at HD Industries in Bear River with a well-maintained, fully equipped interior – loaded with bolt bins, fitting bins, and organized gear. The owners loved the setup and wanted to avoid the hassle (and cost) of buying new and transferring everything. The problem was the exterior: years of salt and road exposure had left it rough, corroded, and tired-looking.

The solution was a targeted exterior-only restoration to refresh and protect it without disturbing the perfectly organized interior.

Scope of Work

• Wheels removed and fully sandblasted

• Fenders polished to a clean shine

• Rear doors and side door completely rebuilt

• All doors clad in fresh sheet metal for durability and a factory-clean appearance

Hardware & Fabrication Every piece of existing hardware was:

• Media-blasted to remove corrosion

• Primed and painted for long-term protection

Custom fabrication included capping the rear exterior structure with polished aluminum checker plate – adding rugged protection where it matters most while giving the trailer a sharp, professional finish.

Finishing The entire exterior was chemically stripped and thoroughly cleaned. No additional paint was applied to the aluminum body – preserving the original character while removing years of grime and oxidation. Blasted and painted components received durable finishes built for Maritime conditions.

Outcome The trailer left the shop looking mint: refreshed, protected, and visually sharp without losing any of its original functionality. The owners kept every bolt bin, fitting, and piece of gear exactly where it was – no downtime, no reorganization required. A cost-effective alternative to replacement that extended the life of a hardworking trailer for years to come.
